My students LOVE when it is OSMO day!\r\n The impact these resources has on all my students is evident by their excitement and focus during OSMO time. But the greatest impact is for those struggling readers as they are now able to navigate learning and feeling successful since reading and pencil/paper tasks are not part of the activity. \r\n I love seeing the students that are mastering OSMO helping each other out to problem solve when they are stuck.","fullyFundedDate":1759321372918,"projectUrl":"project/creativity-and-critical-thinking-using-t/9744369/","projectTitle":"Creativity and Critical Thinking Using Technology While Working Independently!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Nichols","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp999489_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1456183765771","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/999489"},{"teacherId":9901832,"projectId":9104102,"letterContent":"We are so grateful for your generous support! Because of you, our classroom is now filled with engaging, hands-on learning tools that are helping students grow academically and creatively every single day.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, their eyes lit up with excitement and wonder. It felt like Christmas morning! They were especially drawn to the Lakeshore Trace & Draw Projectors—many immediately began tracing animals , proudly showing off their drawings and saying, \"I'm an artist now!\"\r\n\r\nOne of our favorite moments so far was during a STEM exploration time. Using the Create-A-Chain Reaction Kit, students worked together to build their own mini chain reactions. Watching them experiment, revise, and cheer each other on when their designs finally worked was such a powerful example of teamwork, problem-solving, and perseverance. It was a perfect way to introduce early STEM thinking in a fun and approachable way.\r\n\r\nThe Alphabet Learning Locks and CVC Word Builders have become go-to centers during our literacy block. Students love the independence these tools give them as they explore letters, sounds, and word building at their own pace. One student who's been hesitant with letters has now started racing to the lock center each morning—it's been amazing to witness that confidence grow!\r\n\r\nNext steps: We're incorporating the Dough Stampers, Alphabet Mats, and Number Centers into our weekly literacy and math rotations. These tactile resources are supporting letter and number recognition, fine motor skills, and early writing development in ways that worksheets simply can't. We're also planning a classroom \"word-building challenge\" where students will use the Word Puzzles and Snap & Build CVC kits to create and read new words with partners.\r\n\r\nBecause of your kindness, our classroom is now a more joyful, interactive, and student-centered space. They immediately gathered around the table, exploring the materials. It was such a joy to see them engaging with learning in such a hands-on, meaningful way.\r\n\r\nOne memorable moment with the Wobble Cushions happened during our morning literacy block. A student who often struggles to stay seated during reading time grabbed the green wobble cushion, sat down, and said, \"This feels better!\" Since then, it's become a favorite tool not only for him but for several students who benefit from the gentle movement while staying focused. The cushions have given them the freedom to choose what works best for their bodies while still staying engaged in learning.\r\n\r\nThe Flex-Space Wobble Cushions have truly been a game changer. Students who need extra movement throughout the day are now better able to focus while seated. They love choosing the cushion that fits them best, whether it's the orange, green, or blue one. The added flexibility has truly supported a more inclusive and comfortable learning environment.\r\n\r\nNext, we plan to incorporate the sensory materials into our storytelling and literacy centers. \r\n\r\nThank you again for helping bring this vision to life. However, it was my students that were still learning to read that I saw a difference in the way they accessed a book. In the past, when it was time to read they would choose a book and then just quickly flip through pages before getting a new book. Not being able to access the words or story was not very fun. Now they take their time and enjoy a book. I see that they are following along from the beginning to the end of a story and now are reading books they they previously could not read. I even heard a student, who is still learning to read, have a conversation with a student about a book they read while using the CD player that in the past they couldn't not have had.
