When introduced to the chairs at the beginning of the year they were so excited, and enjoyed taking turns learning to use the chairs during our whole group learning. The chairs have two different height options for students which allows them to find a way that's comfortable for them. The chairs can offer physical support for students with low core strength and low tone, but also motivating for students who need support to join group activities. In addition, the chairs are able to be used around our classroom to offer the same support and motivation during small group learning, and in creative spaces like our dramatic play to allow students to incorporate them into their play. Thank you again for supporting our growing preschool classroom and the growing needs of our students.","fullyFundedDate":1755698935369,"projectUrl":"project/accessibility-for-all/9419456/","projectTitle":"Accessibility for All!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Christina","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10058256_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y504&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750958115062","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10058256"},{"teacherId":5808465,"projectId":9454819,"letterContent":"This summer, you chose to donate to our school's music program to help us purchase new xylophones for our students, and it has made an amazing difference. We now have ten xylophones all together--bass, tenor, alto, and soprano. With these instruments, the students have dramatically increased their engagement and excitement about music class! Take a look: \r\n\r\n* Our young musicians are regularly creating music as part of an ensemble, and they rotate through all the parts so they can get a sense of different instrument sounds and how each small part contributes to the whole piece. \r\n\r\n* Students are learning about intervals--the distance between pitches--and this understanding is helping them to learn to play their own favorite songs, making their music learning relevant and meaningful. \r\n\r\n* The instruments you helped us to purchase have removable bars, so I can include only the pitches within the key of the piece that we're playing. This helps them to focus their learning on particular pitches within a scale and use them to create improvisational melodies that will always sound like it fits in the song. The satisfaction and confidence this creates in the learner is so inspiring!\r\n\r\n* Students have learned to play a bordun on their xylophones to accompany a song. They can play the first and fifth pitch of a scale (do and sol) as an ostinato. This provides a harmonic structure as we sing a melody, and helps students to hear the importance of their role as musicians in the ensemble. \r\n\r\nAll of these learning targets are possible because of you. You have ensured that we have the resources needed to involve all kids in active and joyful music-making. These activities provide students with their own intrinsic motivation to hear the success of our ensemble, and for that we could not be more thankful.","fullyFundedDate":1752586571160,"projectUrl":"project/orff-instruments-for-actively-engaged-c/9454819/","projectTitle":"Orff Instruments for Actively Engaged, Confident, Joyful, and Connected Musicians","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Nettie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5808465_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1689296958825","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5808465"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_134126","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":27,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":44,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":88,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":3,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":83.3,"schoolId":134126,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Warwick Community School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Warwick Community School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/massachusetts/warwick-community-school-district/warwick-elementary-school/134126"}
