Because of your generosity, our classroom has been buzzing with creativity, problem‑solving, and that special kind of excitement that happens when kids realize, \"Wait... I actually built this!\"\r\n\r\nWe just wrapped up our unit on loops, and the new Micro:bit kits and building materials made all the difference. Students wrote programs using multiple loops, variables, and parameters, then built physical prototypes to bring their code to life. One student created a little \"stop light\" with a that changed expressions while music played. Another group designed a musical birthday card with looping animations. A third group built an alarm system that flashed images and played a melody when triggered. Watching them test, troubleshoot, and celebrate each breakthrough was honestly the highlight of my week. \r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students reacted the way middle schoolers do when they're genuinely excited. They crowded around the table, talking over each other, tossing out ideas faster than they could write them down. Their imaginations took off immediately, and it was such a joy to see.\r\n\r\nTheir presentations were OUTSTANDING! Now that the projects are complete, students are working on their Reflection Diary entries, thinking about what worked, what they'd redesign, and how loops made their programs more efficient. They're already asking what we get to build next, which tells me everything I need to know about how meaningful this experience was for them.\r\n\r\nYour support didn't just give us supplies. The new small-group materials have created an exciting shift in how students participate in lessons, especially during literacy time. Students absolutely love the vocabulary cards—they've turned routine word practice into a fun, interactive experience. Whether they're sorting, matching, or using them in quick-response games, the cards have helped build stronger vocabulary skills while keeping the students motivated and smiling. These resources have truly enriched our small-group rotations and given students hands-on tools that support their growing confidence as readers.\r\n\r\nThe addition of the stools has also transformed our small-group area into a space students are eager to join. The flexible seating makes the group feel special and inviting, and students are noticeably more focused and enthusiastic when working at the table. Along with the engaging texts they received through the project, the stools help create an environment where students feel comfortable, supported, and excited to learn. Their engagement with the new books has soared—they're actively reading, discussing, and exploring the texts with genuine interest.
