What can I say, but THANK YOU?! My students and I were so excited to receive so many donations to our classroom! Every time a new package was delivered, they wanted to know what was inside and couldn't for the boxes to be opened! Not only have you helped transform our classroom into something warm and special for the students, you have helped create an engaging place where students have access to so many resources, allowing us to learn in new and exciting ways. \r\n\r\nThe Dry Erase Pockets and the Dry Erase Markers are perfect for reusing worksheets to save on paper copies, and we can't wait to use them for review games, soon, too! The pencils have been a huge blessing! May of our students struggle to have even the most basic school supplies. These pencils sit in a bucket on a table in our classroom, and students know if they need a pencil, they don't have to be embarrassed to ask. They're there for everyone to use and share. This also saves us from wasting instructional time looking for writing utensils. \r\n\r\nThe shoe bench is the perfect spot when a student needs some quiet space away from peers in order to focus and work independently. It even serves a dual purpose and has storage built in!\r\n\r\nYour kindness and generosity has been such a blessing to my students already, and many of the donations can be used for future classes, too! I genuinely thank you from the bottom of my heart for the kindness you have shown myself and my students. \r\n\r\nThank you!","fullyFundedDate":1746468273945,"projectUrl":"project/welcome-organized/9305547/","projectTitle":"Welcome & Organized","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Reece","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10001786_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746130297495","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10001786"},{"teacherId":10001786,"projectId":9260836,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donation to our school's track and field team! Our student-athletes were so excited to receive the packages with all of the donations! \r\n\r\nMany of our students come from low-income households, and some of them wouldn't be able to participate in track activities without your generosity. Because of your help, nearly 50 student-athletes are able to have spikes for their track shoes which allow them to compete in running events. Those same athletes now have snacks to help boost their energy and keep them healthy in between events. These events sometimes last several hours. Liquid I.V. will help keep them hydrated and less likely to cramp or pass out during races. Over 30 of our student-athletes now have their own water bottles, many of which couldn't afford them otherwise. \r\n\r\nOur track and field program has grown significantly over the last couple of years. With growth comes the need for more equipment. Your generosity has provided a practice disc and shot put as well as several relay batons, allowing for more students to have access to equipment so that we are able to teach them skills and proper forms and techniques on the track and the field. Last year, there are times that our relay teams were having to borrow relay batons from other schools during competitions because we didn't have enough for our teams. Because of your help, our teams and our coaches no longer have to worry about that burden. This also allows for our students extra time to learn proper form and technique and allowing more time to practice safely. \r\n\r\nBecause of your kindness, our team is able to not only compete, but continue to grow. We are able to expand our program and reach students who may not otherwise be able to participate. We are beyond grateful. Your kindness is appreciated. We are truly thankful that you chose to help fund our project. \r\n\r\nWith much love and respect, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.","fullyFundedDate":1746786308358,"projectUrl":"project/track-and-field-donations-needed/9260836/","projectTitle":"Track and Field Donations Needed","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Reece","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10001786_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746130297495","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10001786"},{"teacherId":4914922,"projectId":8481182,"letterContent":"This year was an exciting time in the art room because our new kiln was installed! This project fulfilled a variety of needs in my classroom this year, but I will share a few ways we used the supplies! One way we used the xacto knives and glue supplies was with a new relief printmaking project in Art 2. Students learned about foreground, middle, and backgrounds and created layered compositions using cardboard. Another use for these supplies was in Art 1, when students learned how to create value in art. We practiced using value scales, and students used the white charcoal pencils to show lightness and darkness in their piece. We have always used black charcoal in my classroom, so using white was a fun way to change it up this year. The texts that were added, various genres of graphic novels, were such a hit in our classroom. The students were delighted to see the new texts, which were of various genres and topics. My goal is to provide a selection of texts for students to be exposed to, with graphic novels, they are not only exposed to new and old literature, but they are also exposed to various styles of art. I love being able to share these things with students.\r\nReading in the classroom, depending on the day, can look like an individual project, and at other times it can appear to be a group project. Since receiving these texts towards the end of the year, we decided to work in small literature circles to work through the text. Groups were selected based on book choices. Students seemed to enjoy having a choice and then discussing their choice as well as discussing other literature circle choices with their peers. This was a great way to end the year with the students. I enjoyed listening and joining in with various groups to gain perspectives on the novels as well as their thoughts on them overall.\r\nAgain, thank you for this donation and the opportunity for students.
