The stools have transformed our round table into a collaboration space where students work in small groups, discuss ideas, and learn from each other during lessons and centers. The whiteboards are a favorite during whole group instruction students love solving problems on their board and explaining their thinking. The lamination sheets have helped create reusable learning materials where students can practice skills again and again.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the new materials, they were very excited. The classroom carpet quickly became their favourite part of the class. Any chance they get whether it's for games, computer activities, or lessons they want to be at the carpet. It has created a comfortable, welcoming space where students feel relaxed and eager to participate. The whiteboards also caused enthusiasm, especially during math, because students enjoy being active and hands-on while solving problems as a whole group.\r\n\r\nBecause of these resources, our next steps include deeper collaboration and more interactive lessons. Students will be building problem solving and communication skills by working together on math and reading activities at the round table and carpet. We will continue using the whiteboards for modeling thinking and peer discussions, helping students grow more confident in sharing their ideas. Your support has truly changed our classroom environment and made learning more engaging, inclusive, and joyful for every student.","fullyFundedDate":1759083808720,"projectUrl":"project/spaces-for-a-successful-class/9522720/","projectTitle":"Spaces for a Successful Class","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hernandez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9014687_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753998628432","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9014687"},{"teacherId":10258066,"projectId":9710088,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous donations, the new resources are being used daily in our counseling office to support students' emotional well-being. Students use the space to take breaks, regulate their emotions, and express their feelings in healthy ways. One meaningful moment was seeing a student who was feeling overwhelmed choose to come into the office, use the calming materials, and leave feeling more relaxed and ready to return to class. The resources have truly transformed the office into a supportive and safe environment.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the new materials, their reactions were filled with excitement and relief. Many immediately commented on how comfortable and welcoming the space felt. Students were eager to explore the calming tools, sensory items, and seating options, and several shared that they finally had a place where they felt understood and safe. For many of them, knowing this space exists has made a big difference in how they manage stress throughout the school day.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, the next steps for students include continuing to use the counseling office as a safe place to build emotional awareness and coping skills. We are working on lessons and individual check-ins that focus on identifying feelings, practicing self-regulation strategies, and learning how to advocate for their needs. Your donations have made it possible to create a space where students feel comfortable expressing themselves, taking a break when needed, and returning to class ready to learn.
