Though this project was funded several years ago, many of the materials you helped provide are still making a lasting impact in my Kindergarten classroom. The primary journals were used during that first school year and gave each student a special space to express themselves through both writing and illustration. Since then, the stamp sets, pencil grips, and styluses have continued to benefit new groups of students year after year—supporting fine motor development, letter recognition, and digital writing skills in fun, meaningful ways.\r\n\r\nOne of the most beloved parts of this project has been the pencil writing buddies. Even now, students get excited to choose their own little companion to keep them company during writing time—it's a simple touch that brings joy and encouragement to the process. Your generosity has helped foster a love of writing that continues to grow with each new class of learners. This project allowed me to organize my classroom in a way I only ever dreamed of. I kept up with the same organization method throughout the years.\r\n\r\nI use the multicolor book bins to organize all of the small group leveled readers I received through DonorsChoose. I use these books in guided reading. It is important for me to have easy access to the books so that each group of students receives the instruction they need. \r\n\r\nI use the larger bins to organize my teacher books. These are books that I read to my students in a whole group. I love that I can easily find the book I'm looking for. I'm pleased to say that years later it has held up well and is being used to this day. My students are also still using the buddy book bags for book shoping and keeping track of their reading. The LCD writing tablets are one of the most engaging tools I use during small groups to instruct my students in phonics and math. In the pictures, you will see how these stickers are still utilized at the beginning of each year to label take-home folders, lunch choice magnets, student belongings, instructional groups, and more. \r\n\r\nI received a massive box of Post-its.
