I've used a couple of the books and used some worksheets to supplement the curriculum with relevant articles and comprehension questions. \r\n\r\nThe ambient light is so nice when the students want to work with the lights off. It makes it a calm environment and the students are more quiet and focused. \r\n\r\nThe headphone holder and headphones have definitely come in handy. The new speaker allows every singer to clearly hear their vocal line during sight-reading, which has increased accuracy and engagement. Students are genuinely excited to practice because they can hear their part well enough to sing it proudly.\r\n\r\nThe guided reading trackers and whisper phones have become instant favorites. Students use the whisper phones during singing to monitor pitch on their own and the reading trackers have improved fluency when reading lyrics and music notation. It's incredible to watch students, especially those who struggle with reading, use literacy tools in a music setting and feel successful.\r\n\r\nThe reproducible choral collections and graphic organizers have elevated my instruction allowing my budget to stretch further. We are now annotating lyrics, identifying musical vocabulary, and discussing composer intention with more depth. I can see students making connections between how we read music and how they read text in traditional content areas.\r\n\r\nThanks to you:\r\n- Students are sight-reading at a higher level.\r\n- Struggling readers now have tools that support their fluency.\r\n- Confidence in singing and reading has increased noticeably.\r\n\r\nYour support didn't just buy materials, it has helped students find their voice.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and in the power of music literacy.\r\nYou helped create a space where young musicians feel seen, capable, and proud.","fullyFundedDate":1760636410736,"projectUrl":"project/hear-every-note-read-every-word/9828887/","projectTitle":"Hear Every Note, Read Every Word!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Davis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10312087_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y239&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1760454299254","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10312087"},{"teacherId":10318714,"projectId":9842797,"letterContent":"Thank you to your incredible generosity, our classroom has been transformed into a more engaging, organized, and focused learning space! The new resources have made such a positive difference in how my students experience literacy in math. The BASON LED lights create a calm atmosphere that helps students stay focused during reading and problem-solving. The CN-Outlet headphones allow each student to work independently during digital literacy and math lessons without distractions, while the Crayola colored pencils and Rarlan #2 pencils make writing, annotating, and illustrating math concepts both fun and creative.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, their faces lit up with excitement! They were especially drawn to the sensory fidget tools and Kore adjustable chairs, which have helped several students who struggle to sit still stay engaged and comfortable during longer literacy-based math activities. The C-Line magnetic job ticket holders have also been a hit — we use them daily for station directions, vocabulary practice, and problem-solving challenges. These additions have made our classroom feel fresh, welcoming, and full of energy.\r\n\r\nRight now, my students are working on connecting reading and writing to math by explaining their problem-solving steps in complete sentences and reflecting on their reasoning. We do something different most days. For example, on Mondays, we follow along as we listen to an audio. Tuesdays, as we read orally ourselves, we write down words we do not know. Since the book takes place in the 1600s, there are a lot of vocabulary words to learn. There are some word that are the same as today, but they have different meanings. \r\nThis leads to great discussions. On Wednesdays, we discuss the vocabulary words first before reading some more. Learning new vocabulary always broadens students' achievement. Then we have a writing activity to go along with the story line.\r\nI actually had a student on Wednesday say, \"I don't want to stop here.
