My students are loving the novels in verse book clubs. The books are not only accessible to their reading levels, but they are also engaging and have diverse characters. \r\n\r\nAs you may know. we are in a literacy crisis and students are just not reading like they used to. They find it boring compared to the fast paced technology world on their phones. However, with your help I am helping my 6th and 8th graders find a love for reading again. The novels in verse are written in a way that has a quicker pace and is broken into smaller chunks. They are enjoying the books and are able to have meaningful conversations about the texts. This allows them to critically think and digest the stories even more. \r\n\r\nVoyager Middle School is a low income school in south Everett and without donors like you we would not be able to get new and engaging books.
