Every box that arrived created more excitement for the students! My students have created some amazing pieces of artwork using the very colorful construction paper, washi tape, paints, dot markers, and stencils that were donated. They have made some fun 3-dimensional art with the peel and stick foam cubes. They really enjoyed creating family portraits using the Colors of the World markers. My students used so much vocabulary and descriptive language while representing their families in a realistic way. \r\n\r\nIn addition to the frequently used art materials, my students enjoy learning with the different themed math counters. Students interest in our math area has increased because I am able to frequently change out materials to match our new themes. Students flock to this center and their learning of counting, sorting, measuring, and comparing has flourished! Perhaps the most exciting of all was the butterfly hatching kit! We used this in our science center. Students observed the caterpillars each day using magnifying glasses and even drawing what they saw. We were able to track growth be keeping an observation journal every few days. When we released the butterflies everyone was excited! Students learned about life cycles and experienced it in real life. Over the past couple of months, my students still talk about the experience and are able to recall what they learned. \r\n\r\nYour support and kindness has really impacted my students growth and development. Most of all, they are excited to learn every day! You helped and I am truly grateful for that.","fullyFundedDate":1755521953214,"projectUrl":"project/pre-k-power-play-making-learning-fun/9535830/","projectTitle":"Pre-K Power Play: Making Learning Fun!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Omohundro","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5880130_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1565585582677","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5880130"},{"teacherId":8495639,"projectId":9452013,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our classroom project! The new resources have had a significant impact on my classroom. The students were overjoyed to see new art supplies in our art centers! They have been able to create beautiful projects! The decorative pillows and mood lamp have created a calm and focused atmosphere. The new office supplies have helped to effectively organize work and activities. The floor numbers help us line up efficiently and allow us to work on our counting, number recognition, and ordinal numbers. Most importantly, we love playing with the play dough! The students love all the color options and use it any chance they can.","fullyFundedDate":1752440006620,"projectUrl":"project/mrs-bujnaks-prek-class/9452013/","projectTitle":"Mrs. Bujnak's Prek Class","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bujnak","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8495639"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_30274","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":374,"numTeachers":21,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":96,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - Pre-K","studentTeacherRatio":"17.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":76.7,"schoolId":30274,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Vivian Adams Early Childhood Center on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Vivian Adams Early Childhood Center","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/east-st-louis-school-district-189/vivian-adams-early-childhood-ctr/30274"}
