Thanks to the generous donations from our Donors Choose supporters, we were able to obtain all of our metal needs for the coming season. This opened up our current fundraising to allow us to make some much needed equipment upgrades and we are excited to announce that Mechanically Challenged is making the jump to SWERVE DRIVE! \r\nOur coding team has been working tirelessly throughout Summer Break to get the code working while wiring and engineering have built and wired the swerve and our CAD team has worked to retrofit the 2025 robot onto the swerve drive. We were excited to have enough materials to be able to prototype, build, and repair the damage from our last event in April :)\r\nWe hosted a successful free summer camp with elementary kids and used some of the metal to make it the best camp ever! With almost double the attendance, the kids had a blast and we are hoping to grow even more next summer.\r\nThank you again for all you do. As the 2024-2025 school year gets underway, our school's mission to foster a big family culture, where every student is included, encouraged, and supported, is more important than ever. Our students come from diverse backgrounds and learn in different ways, and it is my goal to ensure each of them has the tools and resources needed to achieve their full potential.\r\n\r\nI have seen firsthand how vital it is to provide students with access to technology that enhances their learning experience. Many of my students learn best through interactive tools and resources that are available on iPads. These devices will allow them to progress at their own pace, engage with learning in a way that suits their individual needs, and unlock their creativity and problem-solving skills in ways that traditional methods simply cannot. With the ability to tailor lessons and activities using various educational apps, I believe every student will have the opportunity to succeed and thrive, no matter their learning style or speed.\r\n\r\nThe addition of an iPad to our classroom would be transformative, giving my students access to a wealth of resources that will not only help them grasp important concepts, but also ignite their passion for learning. The ability to work with apps that encourage critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration will be a game-changer for them. I am confident that with the support of an iPad, my students will be better equipped to meet the challenges of the semester ahead and build the skills they need for success, both now and in the future.\r\n\r\nYour generosity in supporting this request would not only impact the current group of students I teach, but it would also benefit many future students who will have the opportunity to use the device for years to come. This thoughtful contribution will make a lasting difference in their education, helping them develop into confident, capable learners who are ready to face whatever challenges lie ahead.\r\n\r\nOnce again, thank you so much for considering this opportunity to support my students. Your belief in their potential and your willingness to help provide them with the best tools possible will make a profound impact. I am deeply appreciative of your time, your consideration, and your commitment to the success and well-being of all students.","fullyFundedDate":1733254037702,"projectUrl":"project/apple-for-learning/8772675/","projectTitle":"Apple for Learning!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gardner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9692423_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724248674365","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9692423"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_51862","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":185,"numTeachers":21,"percentFrplEligible":76,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":95,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":1,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"8.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":67.7,"schoolId":51862,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Viola High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Viola High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arkansas/viola-school-district/viola-high-school/51862"}
