Because of you, I will be able to bring the ocean to the classroom.\r\n\r\nThe paint and fish molds will be used for our coral reef unit. It will help to show the diversity of fish and the many colors that make up coral reefs. The box of shells and specimens will help to bring the beach and ocean into the classroom. We will be looking at them later this semester and having actual specimens and not just pictures will be so helpful. The ocean acidification kits will be used when we go over ocean acidification in the next month or so. I also say labs are the best way to do science and having the supplies for this lab will really help to show the process of ocean acidification.\r\n\r\nAgain, thank you so much for your contribution. Some of my students now have tables that are secure, don't wobble, and don't have drawings and words carved into them. The students are making sure that they clean up their messes, don't put gum on the underside of these brand new tables, and don't write on them with sharpies, pens, or pencils.\r\n\r\nI really appreciate what a difference it makes to have tables that are secure and I don't have to tighten the legs every few weeks with the screwdriver in my desk. I only wish I'd been able to replace all the tables in my classroom. They have also learned the important of spelling, grammar, syntax, linguistics, and editing (then re-editing). I have seen all of these students grow as readers, writers, speakers, students, and people. The supplies you provided directly aided that growth. In moments of writer's block or lack of creative juices, they turned to the games and fun writing prompts. They made sure never to miss research and/or writing topics that came to mind by always carrying their handy dandy notebooks and pens. Thank you for helping these kids. With that in mind my snack choices were limited, and the excitement they had when I was filling up the snack bins was incredible. The first response from all students was, \"can we earn them sooner?\" My response was \"yes\" because of the amount and variety we now have available; I am able to allow them to cash in for snacks a few times a week, and not just once a week. \r\n This has boosted their productivity and added to a more positive attitude to get their work in and on time. It has also encouraged students to \"donate\" items to the class, so the bins stay fuller longer. With multiple students listening to videos at the same time, the noise level could quickly become overwhelming. You have proven to them the world isn't all ugly for LGBTQ folks. There are people who not only accept them for who they are, but support and celebrate them.
