Each set of counters, cubes, and number cards now has its own clearly labeled container. This simple change has made a big difference students can quickly find what they need and clean up independently, which keeps our lessons running smoothly.\r\nThey were so excited! Many said, \"Wow, it's all so neat!\" They love having their own bins and feel proud to help keep our math center tidy. The sense of ownership has turned cleanup time into part of our learning \r\nNext, we'll be using these organized materials for our \"Build a Number\" project, where students use manipulatives to represent numbers in multiple ways. The 1st week we read the \"Our Class is a Family\" book and we created our classroom mission which we all signed it. Chair pockets have made our lives so much easier and they enjoy having all their materials readily available.\r\n This week started our literacy centers as well as math centers. Students are loving using the buckets to self-differentiate their \"May Dos\". My original plan for differentiated centers was for me to differentiate all the work, however this group of 3rd graders have shown me that they are very responsible for their own learning (they even asked for homework the 1st week!). That's why I've decided to structure our literacy centers a little differently than I anticipated when I started this project. Students get to choose their own adventure from buckets on our \"center bookshelf\" and work on things they feel like they can grow in while I pull friends for small groups. As the year goes on, they will have more options to choose like the comprehension games and Fraction War (let's get through multiplication 1st) from but for now they love getting to go to the writing bucket and choosing a prompt from the folders. We have some story tellers in this class! \r\n All this to say, we are so appreciative for the materials donated to our classroom to help us grow this year in 3rd grade!","fullyFundedDate":1750276938840,"projectUrl":"project/literacy-center-resources/9413416/","projectTitle":"Literacy Center Resources!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Taylor","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10045545_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750693558940","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10045545"},{"teacherId":9074125,"projectId":9099875,"letterContent":"The new science texts and materials introduced in our classroom are helping students build foundational skills in scientific thinking and inquiry. Through these resources, students are learning how to analyze data, form hypotheses, evaluate evidence, and make real-world connections to scientific concepts. Many of the texts highlight current scientific issues and diverse scientists from various backgrounds, which not only broaden students' understanding of the content but also help them see science as relevant and accessible. We also focus on critical thinking by exploring cause-and-effect relationships, systems thinking, and scientific ethics—encouraging students to ask questions and think deeply about the world around them.\r\n In our classroom, science reading is active and exploratory. Students engage with a mix of informational texts, hands-on investigations, and multimedia sources. They annotate articles, participate in collaborative discussions, and write reflections or explanations to show their understanding. A particularly exciting outcome has been watching certain students—especially those who might not always feel confident in traditional subjects—become energized by reading about real-world applications of science, like space exploration, environmental justice, or biotechnology. One student, for instance, became deeply engaged with a unit on climate change after reading about young activists making a difference. These new texts are not only improving literacy in science but are also sparking curiosity, empowerment, and a deeper appreciation for how science shapes our world.","fullyFundedDate":1740490947290,"projectUrl":"project/help-us-build-a-science-classroom-librar/9099875/","projectTitle":"Help Us Build a Science Classroom Library!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jones","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9074125_orig.jpg?crop=2449,2449,x282,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1686656541444","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9074125"},{"teacherId":8309772,"projectId":6175038,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for helping my learners with Headphones.
