We have already put the everyday items to use in hands-on challenges that make science and engineering come alive. Students stacked cups without touching them, built towers out of spaghetti noodles, and even figured out how to support books three inches off the desk with just a single piece of paper. These simple materials have sparked big thinking—my students are experimenting, problem-solving, and collaborating like real scientists and engineers.\r\n\r\nThe moment my students first saw the supplies was unforgettable. They were wide-eyed and eager to dive in, asking, \"What can we build first?\" and \"Can we try it our way?\" Their gratitude has been clear in the way they take care of the materials and encourage each other during projects. For many of my students, these hands-on experiences are a brand-new way of learning, and they are thriving. One student said, \"This doesn't feel like school—it feels like fun!\" Moments like that remind me how powerful access to the right resources can be.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, my students now see science as something they can touch, test, and explore. Our next steps include using the materials for motion and force projects, like balloon-powered cars and rubber band machines, as well as exploring light and reflection with flashlights and mirrors. Each project connects directly to third-grade science standards while building teamwork and critical thinking. Your donation has given my students more than supplies—it has given them confidence, curiosity, and the joy of discovering how the world works.","fullyFundedDate":1743047484884,"projectUrl":"project/stem-explorers-hands-on-science-with-ev/9200934/","projectTitle":"STEM Explorers: Hands-On Science with Everyday Materials!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Esplin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2215615_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1512267771868","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/susan-esplin"},{"teacherId":2263195,"projectId":9108475,"letterContent":"Thank you for donating to our classroom project!
