As soon as the dividers went up and the fidgets were organized, the corner quickly became a favorite place in our classroom — a calm, welcoming space where students can take a few minutes to reset, refocus, and return ready to learn.\r\n\r\nOne powerful moment came during the first week of using it. A student who often struggles to regulate emotions asked to use the Calming Corner. After spending a few quiet minutes there with one of the fidgets and a breathing card, they rejoined the group smiling and ready to participate again. It was such a meaningful reminder of how small supports can make a big difference in helping students build self-control and confidence.\r\n\r\nNow, the Calming Corner has become a daily tool for emotional wellness. Students use it independently and respectfully — taking turns, following reflection prompts, and using the fidgets or sensory items to calm their minds. The dividers help create a private and peaceful environment, even in a busy classroom.\r\n\r\nOur next step is teaching students how to carry the strategies they practice in the Calming Corner into other parts of their day — like transitions, group work, or testing situations. The impact of this project goes far beyond the materials; it's helping students learn lifelong skills for managing emotions and maintaining focus.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this possible.
