It's challenging to convey how much the various supplies have helped our classroom, but I will try. \r\n\r\nThe students have been communicating with each other more as they make real or silly animals with the magnetic legs, bodies, heads, and arms. Then, they have so much fun adding these to our wooden blocks and/or our Magnatiles. I'll see the kids marching the animals around the classroom while talking, laughing, etc. We have a play house and adding the new play people has caused much more excitement and engagement. \r\n\r\nWith the addition of these donated materials, the kids are showing wonderful gains in language development, understanding cause and effect, building and creating. Your gift has filled our classroom with laughter and meaningful play every day.","fullyFundedDate":1756654038872,"projectUrl":"project/enhance-creative-building/9298583/","projectTitle":"Enhance Creative Building","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Cherry","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8691923_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x322,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1726621787973","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8691923"},{"teacherId":9728523,"projectId":8737075,"letterContent":"Your donation provided my classroom with science activities for the whole year! My students and I were so thrilled to see all of the kits. Since my class includes 3rd through 5th grade, we dove into the 3rd grade kits first. They have loved exploring force and motion, using magnets and a pendulum.\r\n Following winter break, we will investigate energy, changes in landscape, and the human body as we put the 4th grade kits into action. The end of spring break will see my class begin their experimentation with 5th grade science standards in ecosystems, properties of matter, and water conservation. \r\n As an educator in special education, I love that these kits are appropriate and easily accessible to all of my students. My students look forward to our weekly science activities. Your generosity has allowed my students to see and manipulate science in real world situations instead of just reading or watching videos about science. They continue to be thrilled with each new item they use as it's always a treat to have new Playdoh, and they have many new tools to help their creativity. The dough stampers have been amazing as I hear conversations between students and the students have been trying to match the beginning letter with what they're making (like stamping the letter \"C\" on their cookies, the letter \"B\" on their burrito, etc.) These students are learning and not even realizing it! They are having the time of their lives. \r\n\r\nThe addition of our small blue sensory table has been instrumental in facilitating creative conversations. I've been amazed at the new friendships that have formed just by having this item! Also, it's incredibly light weight so we've been able to trade sensory tables each week with our TK neighbor classroom. This keeps all of the items feeling new and exciting!
