When my students write code to make their Sphero navigate a maze or light up in a pattern they designed, they're not just playing—they're learning to think like engineers and troubleshoot like real-world innovators.\r\n\r\nFor many of our students, this is their first experience with robotics and coding. The excitement is contagious. They love seeing their ideas come to life in motion, light, and sound. Whether they're programming the BOLT to race across the room, dance to music, or complete a \"rescue mission,\" they're deeply engaged and motivated to keep improving their code.\r\n\r\nWhat I've noticed most is the way these robots encourage perseverance. If the Sphero doesn't perform as expected, my students don't give up—they tweak their program, test again, and celebrate each small victory. They're learning that mistakes are simply part of the process.\r\n\r\nYour support has given my students a chance to experience technology not as passive consumers, but as creators and problem-solvers. These lessons—and the confidence that comes with them—will stay with them long after they leave my classroom.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this possible. You've sparked curiosity, joy, and a love of learning that will last for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1741650141686,"projectUrl":"project/new-tech-new-opportunities/9011356/","projectTitle":"New Tech, New Opportunities","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Anderson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2521356_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1483209574314","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/jaimie-anderson"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_122325","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":860,"numTeachers":13,"percentFrplEligible":63,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":80,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"66.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":81.4,"schoolId":122325,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Urbana Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Urbana Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/ohio/urbana-city-school-district/urbana-elementary-junior-high-school/122325"}
