Since I didn't have any curriculum for the first two months, I was printing articles I found on the internet in black and white. There was no color and often they didn't turn out to be very interesting to my students. Action Magazine is full-color and has articles and fiction text that is relevant to their lives in a wide range of topics. My reluctant readers have all found something they were interested in to read. \r\n\r\n As much value to me as student interest, are the lesson plans and components available each month. There is such a variety of skills to practice with the magazine, such as the use of text evidence, problem and solution and summarizing. Articles like, \"Should She Get a Raise?\" are both interesting to the students who play or love sports and allowed them to think about fairness as well. I can't thank you enough for giving me quality materials and confidence that I am providing lessons useful to my students.","fullyFundedDate":1761565818920,"projectUrl":"project/invest-in-literacy-bring-action-magazin/9858934/","projectTitle":"Invest in Literacy: Bring Action Magazine to Readers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Henry","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10332595"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_59214","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1687,"numTeachers":94,"percentFrplEligible":45,"percentAsian":7,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":47,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":31,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"17.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":69.5,"schoolId":59214,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Tualatin High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Tualatin High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oregon/tigard-tualatin-sch-dist-23j/tualatin-high-school/59214"}
