It fit right into our pet study, and now we just have to come up with names for our little fake classroom pets. One of the first questions I heard was, \"Are they real\"? We will set the glow in the dark terrarium up a little later, to see if we can grow some real plants. I'm looking forward to watching them grow, right alongside of the children in our class. We are really going to have some fun with science in the near future!\r\n\r\nI am also looking forward to introducing the new light up materials for our light pad, and adding the 2 new personal activity centers. The kids are going to love playing and learning with them. These materials have already made an impact on our classroom, and the memories they will make are only going to increase as the months go on throughout this school year. They wanted to go outside and play under it, but didn't get to chance to play under it that day.\r\n\r\nThis week the temperature is expected to rise again, so we will be making good use of the umbrella. They are going to remember these new school toys, and how much fun they had at the end of their Preschool year. They couldn't wait to pick one to sit on at story time! Everyone grabbed a spot on the carpet, and joined right in. The kids commented on how the cushions are better than just sitting on the carpet.\r\n We are still waiting for the bean bag chair to arrive, but it is expected to be delivered to the office sometime tomorrow. We will use it in our Calm Down Center, and return the little foam couch we borrowed from another classroom. When I told the kids about the new books that were ordered for our classroom, all of their eyes lit up!\r\n As we end our study unit on balls, each child will receive a Sports Sticker Activity Book to take home to add to their home library. In doing this, they can share with their families what they've been learning about in class.
