Rather than learning about design or technology in theory, students are actively planning, designing, and producing physical items that support leadership efforts and school-wide morale. Through this process, students are learning how technology can be used to solve real problems while building collaboration, responsibility, and follow-through.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most is having ownership of the entire process and seeing their work make an immediate impact. Using the 3D printers, student leaders have been able to plan and run morale-boosting campaigns by selecting, printing, and distributing items such as Turkey Gratitude Grams, fidgets, and sensory toys. These items have been used to recognize positive behavior, encourage connection, and bring moments of positivity into the school day. Students take pride in knowing that something they created is being shared across the building and appreciated by their peers.\r\n\r\nThis technology has also allowed students to think ahead and plan future initiatives, including an upcoming February campaign featuring conversation heart clickers. Several students who may not always step into traditional leadership roles have found confidence through this hands-on, creative work. By designing and producing items that serve others, students are learning that leadership can be innovative, inclusive, and service-oriented. We are very grateful to our donors for providing tools that allow students to lead in meaningful and creative ways.","fullyFundedDate":1760698259810,"projectUrl":"project/student-leaders-creating-sel-tools-with/9675219/","projectTitle":"Student Leaders Creating SEL Tools With STEM and 3D Printing","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Dodd","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp853448_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758829344157","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/853448"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_83276","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":646,"numTeachers":42,"percentFrplEligible":38,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":94,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":1,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"11 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"15.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":50.0,"schoolId":83276,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Tri-County Career Center on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Tri-County Career Center","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/ohio/tri-county-joint-vocational-school-district/tri-county-career-center/83276"}
