With all of the equipment we all got to dissect the frogs really well and all classes had a really good time.We all were looking forward to it all year and thanks to all of you and Mr. Norey that got to happen!\r\n\r\n\tThe frogs went better than I expected. I thought that it would be really gross but surprisingly it really wasn't. All the people in all the classes got to learn more about everything and the anatomy of the frogs. Like how to tell or guess if a frog is a female or male just based on the size of their hands.\r\n\r\n\tIf I had to guess, all the people in each class were really happy that we did this unit and got to learn more about the nature and life of how outside animals survive.\r\n\r\n\tI know some kids in my classes that act up a lot but when Mr. Norey threatened them to take away their frog privilege; they got their act together just because we all knew how fun this unit would be. You all got us to make this the best frog dissection that we've had in tri county so far. Thank you so much for all of this. My words don't even come close to describing how thankful we all are. Once again thank you so much for everything especially when you didn't have to do any of this you did it willingly. They're able to compare their work to what it should look like, and create something real.\r\nNo amount of simulation could come close to the hands-on experience that they are gaining.\r\nStudents weren't too sure about soldering when we first started, but they're trying. And they're trying hard!\r\nIn learning to solder, we're working on creating a circuit board that will become part of an experiment sent to space, and students will be able to examine the data from their experiment. This is a unique opportunity for our students and classes behind them are hearing what we're doing as well and expressing interest. It's an amazing thing to see unfold in real time.\r\nThank you for this gift you've given our students. With recent cuts to SNAP benefits, many of our students and their families are facing increased food insecurity. This support will help ensure that students who may not have access to food pantries over the holiday break still have meals available to them. Thank you for investing in our students' well-being and for helping meet such a critical need during this time. Your generosity will make a meaningful difference for our school community.\r\n\r\nThis project impacted student learning by ensuring hunger is not a barrier to everyday learning. We built trust with students by sharing this resource in a time of great need. \r\n\r\nI am a community health worker and focus on barriers to school success which includes food insecurity. The donation to the pantry has allowed for me to be able to provide a short term in the moment solution while I figure out with their guardian how to help them best in the long term. The Strawbees STEAM sets have helped students to learn more about moving objects, such as levers and how different animals move such as wings, tails, and fins.\r\n\r\nFor some of my students, being able to use something they are already familiar with, such as the bit boards we already had, with something new means that they are already comfortable with the technology that we're using, and just adding a new layer. This is incredibly important to the success that my students experience with new technology in the classroom. Adding a new layer means that they are more willing to try something new because it's not completely overwhelming when being introduced.\r\n\r\nFinally, the Strawbees and the STEAM kits are accessible to almost every student who comes to class.
