I can see the difference between having the book that we can pause, and interact better with compared to a read aloud video. A lot of the chosen books we received also encourage creative writing and they have made a lot of cute and fun stories in response to our read aloud.\r\n\r\nStudents are also choosing to read the books during their center time. I see students reading in our library and at their tables. This has been really exciting to see because reading can be challenge for a lot of kids and that will sometimes make them not want pick up a book. However, the books we received, especially the \"how to catch\" books have been very popular among the kids. I am really proud of them for practicing their readings skills and I am really thankful to you for providing books that engage them. thank you for that support. \r\n\r\nI am also so thankful for your donation that helped bring in the SEL and cultural books. While academics is important, as teachers we are also teaching them how to be kind, caring and accepting people. The hundred charts and the number lines are used daily to practice their counting, addition and subtraction skills. The coin jars were used to practice sorting coins based on their properties. Now that the money unit is finished, we have added the coin jars into our calendar so we can count the number of days in school with coins. The shapes and pattern block designs were looked at because they were so excited to see them, but we haven't officially worked with them yet. Our shapes unit is coming up in March and I am so excited to have enough solid shapes for students to actually see the number of sides, faces, and corners of a solid shape. I also know they will love the pattern block design as a center game during our shapes unit!\r\n\r\nThank you for your donation.
