The tools we received have helped create a more calming and welcoming environment in the classroom. The lights and wall decal have allowed students to engage with their surroundings more, while creating a more peaceful and calming learning space. In addition, students have learned to take responsibility to turning on/off the lights at the beginning and end of the day. \r\n\r\nIn addition, some of the materials have been used to help increase independence skills in all students. By incorporating visuals with the bins, students have been learning to access sensory and learning tools with little to no support from staff. As seen in the photos, two highlights have been the yoga mats and the fidgets. My students need sensory breaks and tools in order to maintain a state of calm. The sensory tools are a great way for them to get their needs met while staying in the classroom. This allows them to remain a part of the group and participate in the lesson. I keep the fidgets in the back of the classroom in a basket and students are able to independently access what they need in the moment. This has had a wonderful impact on my classroom. The yoga mats have also been a huge hit. Movement is consistently an activity that my students identify as their favorite part of the day. Thank you for providing yoga mats so that we don't have to do our stretching on the floor.","fullyFundedDate":1730221449576,"projectUrl":"project/natalies-classroom/8908382/","projectTitle":"Natalie's Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Natalie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9819015"},{"teacherId":9814402,"projectId":8907245,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the donations. Students have been very excited as items have begun to arrive. I have shared some of the supplies with other teachers and they are very appreciative as the adaptive paint and scissors will go a long way in helping students access a creative outlet. \r\n\r\nWe have already completed a few projects using the supplies. Students are beginning to increase their confidence and independence in where to find supplies, and knowing that they can access things when they want. The art supplies have already been used for a variety of activities which have allowed students to express themselves while learning about snow and the Lunar New year. Again, thank you for your donations, the students and myself greatly appreciate your support.","fullyFundedDate":1733528450025,"projectUrl":"project/art-supplies-and-more-for-adults-with-di/8907245/","projectTitle":"Art Supplies and More for Adults with Disabilities","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Amy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9814402"},{"teacherId":9817984,"projectId":8906621,"letterContent":"Because of you, my students were able to benefit with hands on tools to support their learning and mental health. Students were amazed when the materials arrived and excited to begin working right away.\r\n\r\nThey first noticed the light covers and the book shelf which created a calm tone within the classroom. Others tools were used as sensory objects to support self regulation. Students loved using the beads as a sensory object. My students can find solace, focus their attention, and focus on their overall well-being. I am blessed to work with such a wonderful population of students that I not only get to inspire and encourage, but that also inspire and encourage me every day. \r\n\r\nKnowing that may students will have barriers throughout their lives, I find it incredibly important to seize the moments we have to make the best and most memorable experiences possible. My students have increased their endurance and physical movement through the use of the \"Active Dice Set\". Most of my students are not always eager to engage in physical activity, but with the Dice Set they are having such a wonderful time getting exercise. Also, the weighted blankets and bean bag have provided the needed emotional space and tools to assist with multiple social emotional needs. The students have learned how to share the blankets, use them as needed and offer assists to friends in needs. The bean bag has created a space for students to take a break, relax or simply put, flexible seating. \r\nYour donations have offered many life lessons for my students to perfect!","fullyFundedDate":1730171006275,"projectUrl":"project/safe-study-space/8907731/","projectTitle":"Safe Study Space","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Amy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9818640"},{"teacherId":9814402,"projectId":8900168,"letterContent":"Thank you again for your contribution to our classroom! The items we have received have made a big impact on the students. The play microphone has helped one student gain more confidencen in speaking during class, while the emotions sort activity has allowed another to participate in class more fully. Of course the games have been a huge hit and have helped facilitate many great interactions between peers and created space for everyone to work on their social skills. \r\n\r\nStudents and staff alike were excieted as items began to arrive.
