A handful of pretzels, maybe some peanut butter and they are in a much better place to learn.\r\n\r\nI've handed out the Tootsie Pops on 2 days where we were doing some very complex and lengthy/boring notes. We are currently in the process of using it to print interactive DNA model sets for students for an upcoming unit (they will be able to model DNA replication and protein synthesis with the components).\r\nRobotics students at my campus have been amazing at setting it up for me and training me how to use it. Since it was funded at the end of the year, my supply shipment had to wait for August. Summer started and the students and I forgot everything there was to forget about school. Starting back up in August was rough, we lost a beloved teacher from our campus and his whole family. Classroom supplies were the last thing on my mind. But then- boy howdy!- did they show up! Those deliveries truly were something to get excited about. Boxes full of those \"extras\" that make my classroom a place that kids love to be. The reward items? Already a hit! The \"treasure box\" is being used liberally to motivate students that have lived through life-changing events. The fish tank items? About to be put to use in order to set up our year-long aquatic ecosystem project AND giving our students/families (some who have lost everything) one less thing to worry about buying.
