When I first opened the boxes in front of them, their eyes lit up. The students spent three full class periods trying to juggle together. None of them already knew how to juggle, and everyone developed some level of proficiency after our time juggling together. I was proud of my own progress, too! The students were thrilled and agreed that it was a great way to connect. They asked me why they were learning to juggle, and I talked about the importance of being able to make mistakes and grow together in a supportive space. My students agreed that they enjoyed the feeling of failing and getting better while juggling, and that it's important to capture that feeling when they're working on academic content that's more grade-focused. They really appreciated the activity, and it's now going to be a staple of all the classes I teach going forward. Your generosity made this possible.","fullyFundedDate":1754869740116,"projectUrl":"project/being-a-beginner-again-learning-to-jugg/9525369/","projectTitle":"Being a Beginner Again: Learning to Juggle!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Levy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10106770"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_53042","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":2111,"numTeachers":104,"percentFrplEligible":37,"percentAsian":63,"percentBlack":5,"percentWhite":19,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":6,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"20.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":80.0,"schoolId":53042,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Thomas Jefferson High School - Science & Technical on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Thomas Jefferson High School - Science & Technical","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/virginia/fairfax-county-public-schools/thomas-jefferson-high-school-science-tech/53042"}
