The introduction of comfortable carpets, gently lit trees, and organized shelves for fidget and SEL materials created a dedicated space where students can take a break and refocus when they are feeling overwhelmed. This calming environment has helped students regulate their emotions and develop self-management skills, leading to a noticeable improvement in overall classroom climate.\r\n\r\nStudents have responded enthusiastically to the Serenity Spot, often sharing that the natural elements and cozy textures make them feel safe and supported. The use of fidget tools and other SEL resources in this space has empowered students to advocate for their needs and practice mindfulness strategies independently. As a result, I have observed increased engagement in learning, stronger peer relationships, and fewer disruptions, as students are better equipped to manage stress and return to class ready to participate. The Serenity Spot has truly become a vital resource for both academic and social-emotional growth in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1747151421763,"projectUrl":"project/serenity-spot-empowering-students-throu/9183719/","projectTitle":"Serenity Spot: Empowering Students Through a Relaxation Station","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Thompson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1171983_orig.jpg?crop=1536,1536,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1714400277767","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1171983"},{"teacherId":7131135,"projectId":8931048,"letterContent":"Words cannot express the excitement my students have shown with the ability to access activities and book in the classroom that they were not able to before.
