The kids were really excited when the materials arrived and the items have been very well received.\r\n\r\nFirst graders and kindergartners have been using some of the items to learn about insects. I had no idea how valuable the insect posters would be, but the kids loved looking at them and seeing how some of the insects were transferring pollen from flowers on their bodies. The size of the posters were perfect for class as they are so big that every student can see them from the carpet; and the insect memory card game has been a great way to help students remember the names of the insects while having some fun. These items were used exactly how I was hoping and allowed students to learn independently and in small groups, but they were also suitable for full class lessons. \r\n\r\nSome of my 2nd and 3rd grade classes enjoyed dressing up like scientists while using the volume measurement items along with test tubes and food coloring to practice mixing and measuring. The magnetic drawing boards were a hit during my magnetism unit, but the kids enjoyed them so much I have had added them as a free choice option. Students have also really enjoyed having new lego kits with instructions. Even my kindergartners got a kick out of using them when they were modeling living and non-living things with some of my toys. \r\n\r\nI am hoping to create even more independent learning opportunities for my students next year, but thanks to your generosity, I have everything I need to do it.
