This years' classroom, as a whole, is much more sensory seeking than I have had in the past and I am always trying to come up with ways to meet those needs. I found the BouncyBand Soft Squeeze Seat after scouring the internet for suggestions! It came with rave reviews so I was hopeful my students would take to it as well to get some much needed sensory imput and it has done exactly that! \r\nThe BouncyBand Soft Squeeze Seat is a very sought after item within the classroom by multiple students. They often seek it out when they are needing that extra movement or \"squeeze\"-type pressure. It has actually been so popular that it has its own \"home\" so that no one trips and falls when not in use, but then has a designated square on the floor where it can be taken to to be used by students when needed. Most students sit and rock in it, however 1-2 students will gravitate to it and use it during free choice time and sit inside it while it is laying on it's side to get that pressure imput without the movement aspect. \r\nAdding in this adaptive seating option to our classroom has truly helped those students who are my highest sensory seeking kids to become more regulated on their own. I have noticed, since adding in the seat, their ability to recognize their own needs has increased and in turn, their ability to seek out an appropriate solution, has increased as well. I no longer need to offer the seat as an option! My students now identify their need, grab the seat, and make their way to the square on the floor in order to utilize it all on their own! \r\nThank you so much for your donation in order to fund purchasing the BouncyBand Soft Squeeze Seat and helping to make my classroom a place where students are able to self-regulate more efficiently and in doing so, making a calmer, more focused classroom for all!","fullyFundedDate":1738763682117,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-seat-for-increased-focus/8911143/","projectTitle":"Sensory Seat for Increased Focus","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Winstead","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9820650_orig.jpg?crop=640,640,x0,y38&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1730315944874","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9820650"},{"teacherId":8104009,"projectId":8682548,"letterContent":"My students have has a wonderful time learning the ukulele so far!
