Your investment in my classroom has had a lasting impact on my students' learning, engagement, and achievement in science. Because of your contribution, my students not only gained access to essential tools and resources, but they also grew in confidence and ability—both in science and in the literacy skills that help them succeed across all subjects.\r\n\r\nOne of the most meaningful outcomes of this project is the measurable growth my students achieved. Through Pinellas County Schools' progress monitoring, I was able to see just how much they advanced. Students who once struggled with abstract concepts were able to grasp them more fully when given hands-on manipulatives, visuals, and opportunities to interact with digital content. The tools you provided helped me transform difficult, often intangible science ideas into concrete, memorable experiences. Whether it was modeling the phases of the Moon using foam spheres and light, experimenting with glow sticks and chemical reactions, or investigating density and mass with expandable spheres, my students could see and touch the science they were learning about. These experiences didn't just make learning more fun—they made it stick.\r\n\r\nBeyond science content, your support also strengthened students' literacy skills, which played a critical role in preparing them for the Statewide Science Assessment. By using colored supplies for annotating complex texts, creating graphic organizers, and designing one-pagers, my students practiced analyzing information, identifying key details, and organizing their thoughts clearly. These strategies translated directly into their ability to tackle challenging reading passages on the state test.\r\n\r\nThe Pinellas Education Foundation's support allowed me to be a more effective teacher. With access to the right tools, I was able to create lessons that reached students of all learning styles—visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. The headphones, for example, made it possible for students to engage in personalized digital lessons and videos, where animations and interactive simulations broke down complex scientific processes into understandable pieces. The simple addition of colored markers, highlighters, and chart paper helped us anchor learning in vibrant, visual ways that students could revisit again and again. Each of these resources, though small on their own, worked together to create an environment where curiosity could thrive.\r\n\r\nThank you again to DonorsChoose donors and the Pinellas Education Foundation for believing in my students and supporting our classroom. Your generosity has not only provided us with supplies—it has created opportunities, built confidence, and inspired the next generation of scientists. Together, we are proving that with the right resources, students can rise to any challenge and achieve beyond expectations.","fullyFundedDate":1734622850390,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-future-scientists-support-ou/8811683/","projectTitle":"Empowering Future Scientists: Support Our Dynamic and Engaging Science Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Viana","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7383652_orig.jpg?crop=920,920,x0,y18&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1597097785608","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/vianascience"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_46945","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":649,"numTeachers":41,"percentFrplEligible":48,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":12,"percentWhite":57,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":19,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"15.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":76.9,"schoolId":46945,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Tarpon Springs Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Tarpon Springs Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/pinellas-county-schools/tarpon-springs-middle-school/46945"}
