When the students first saw the new classroom area which provides a more comfortable learning space, they were so excited! Immediately students flopped down on the beanbags with a sigh and commented on how wonderful it is! Former students have also visited and admired the new space.\r\n\r\nI have already utilized this space for some students who were struggling to focus while reading independently. Once I offered the beanbags as an option, they immediately perked up and began to read their novels in a more focused manner. I have also let students work in that are during group work. Every group wanted that space, so now we have to have a rotation so all students will be able to work at the new table.\r\n\r\nRecently, I have been integrating growth mindset ideals into the classroom. This pairs extremely well with the mental wellness goal I strive to work on with students each year. For next steps, I am hoping to integrate more tools to aid in teaching students ways to cope with stress and help manage anxiety. As always, having a calm, caring environment is always on my agenda.","fullyFundedDate":1753829896853,"projectUrl":"project/a-safe-place-to-land/9504048/","projectTitle":"A Safe Place to Land","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gardner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9985757_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753115992311","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9985757"},{"teacherId":9672427,"projectId":9066508,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our classroom! With your donation, we were able to purchase a cell phone holder and charging cords, which may seem like small additions—but they've made a huge difference in how we manage technology in our learning environment. Many students use their phones as tools for research, educational apps, and classroom activities. Now, instead of struggling to keep devices charged or distracted by them during lessons, we have a clear system in place that supports both focus and access.\r\n\r\nWhat's most exciting to students is how this setup gives them more control and responsibility. They appreciate having a dedicated place to charge their phones, and it's helped reduce stress for students who rely on their devices for assignments, note-taking, or even communication at home. One student told me it was the first time they didn't have to \"juggle between finding an outlet and staying in class\"—a simple convenience that's helped them stay more present and productive. It's also helped me manage the classroom better, reducing distractions and creating a more structured routine around technology use.\r\n\r\nYour donation has supported more than just supplies—it's supported a smoother, more student-centered learning environment. We have enjoyed reading some of them and look forward to reading the rest next year. I teach three reading classes for students in Grades 6-8, and these high interest/low level books are giving my students more confidence when reading. The content is written at their reading level, but is interesting to them, whereas other books were always very immature. \r\n\r\nPreviously, students would look around the room or out the window when other students were reading out loud. They didn't want to follow along with the story, and when called upon to read, they would not know where they should start because of this. I am happy to report that this has not happened once with these new books. They are especially liking the book \"Cheat.\" This is a story about a reporter who discovers and investigates a cheating scandal. \r\n\r\nThank you for giving me some tools to help ignite the desire to read!","fullyFundedDate":1740008869884,"projectUrl":"project/reading-with-dignity/9089271/","projectTitle":"Reading with Dignity","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Cassidy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9912545_orig.jpg?crop=720,720,x328,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1738262223632","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9912545"},{"teacherId":9678331,"projectId":8941778,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation! The impact has been immediate, and I'm excited to share how we've been using the new seating and how it has already enhanced our learning environment.\r\n\r\nSince introducing the new seating, my students have been thrilled to explore the different options available to them. During a recent group project students were able to choose seats that best suited their working styles. Some chose standing desks for brainstorming sessions, while others opted for group tables to encourage collaborative discussions. This flexibility has allowed students to stay engaged and focus on the project at hand, without the constraints of traditional seating arrangements.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement in the classroom was palpable. The students couldn't believe their eyes when they saw the new seating. There were gasps of excitement as they immediately started experimenting with the different options. Many students mentioned that the seating made them feel more comfortable and ready to engage with the lesson. It was truly heartwarming to see how much the students appreciated the change and how quickly they took ownership of their learning space.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for our current project involve students putting the finishing touches on their group presentations. They will be using their new seating to work collaboratively, practice their presentations, and finalize their projects. I believe the comfort and flexibility of the seating will enhance their ability to focus and work together, resulting in even better outcomes for the project. I can already see how the new seating is helping them think more creatively and communicate more effectively.\r\n\r\nYour support has not only transformed our classroom physically, but it has also contributed to a more positive and engaged learning atmosphere.
