We are using the boards everyday. I have been choosing students each day that get to use the boards. It is a special privilege to use them. ( I am only doing this until everyone knows how to use them and how careful they must be with them. ) \r\n\r\nWe recently used them in our phonics lesson with digraphs. I called out the word \"chin\", one of the board holders had 4 sounds for chin. As a class, we tapped out the sounds. They realized that the \"ch\" made one sound so it was a digraph and they needed to find the correct magnetic tile on the board. They corrected to 3 sounds with 4 letters. \r\n\r\nWhen it was unboxing day, I don't know who was more excited me or the kids! They brought in boxes and boxes. The students kept saying what is in there. I told them something special wrapped in love. We unwrapped and put together the first one. I used it as a model in my next lesson. \r\n\r\nThe next steps for this project is to utilize it. I plan on marking each board with a number, so I can keep track of anyone that isn't taking care of their board. FUN FACT: After I received this grant and praised the growth of my students to my Principal. She decided to buy a set for every teacher in grades K-2 with our Title one money. I was SHOCKED! I know that if this grant wouldn't have been funded, my school would not be changing how students show phonemic awareness. The day your donation arrived felt like a holiday in our Special Education Pre-K classroom. The excitement was contagious—our little learners lit up with smiles, gasps, and lots of happy jumping as we opened the boxes. They couldn't believe all these amazing new materials were just for them!\r\nThe impact of the art supplies, liquid sensory tiles, bikes, toy car, stepping stones, balance beams and so many amazing items, has been immediate and profound. Our students are using the sensory tiles during morning arrival to help with transitions into the classroom—it's now a calming routine that sets a positive tone for the day. The vibrant art supplies have unlocked new ways for our students to express themselves, especially those who are nonverbal or have limited language. One student, who usually hesitates to participate, confidently painted a picture and proudly showed it off to the class. It was a moment that brought tears to our eyes.\r\nWe also introduced a weekly \"Movement Monday\" where students rotate through gross motor stations using the bikes, balance beams, and stepping stones. These activities have become a favorite, helping students build strength, balance, and confidence—all while having fun. One student who previously avoided physical play now eagerly zooms around on the bike and cheers for his classmates. It's been beautiful to watch them grow socially and physically through play.\r\nYour donation has made our classroom more inclusive, engaging, and joyful.
