The supplies have been so helpful for our computer program for math and reading. First, I showed my students my real passport with its stamps from countries around the world.\r\nEach student has been given a passport and whenever they pass lessons they get a sticker and then stamps. They are so proud to receive them as it tangibly shows their success. \r\n\r\nMy students are known as \"Mrs. Perlowitz's Precious Gems\" and each year I give out the big gems on the first day of school. They get to pick their favorite color!\r\nThe other items such as the star trophies, star stickies and star stress balls will be used for our end of year Hollywood movie night, when they are treated to a red carpet stroll like movie stars. We read the book when we were learning about wants and needs, discussing how money is needed for both things. They really enjoyed how the money acted like a real person, especially when it was at a lemonade stand.\r\n\r\nOur felt hand number boards were a big hit! They loved using the felt fingers, turning them down for subtraction, and then pulling them back up for addition. We used the fingers to count by ones, fives and tens. We even used what we learned about money from the book mentioned above to count coins with the hands. Every time I pulled this resource out to use, I heard a resounding \"yay!
