Trust me, it is just when you also are running out of money and can't get all of the nice extras that you need to run your classroom. \r\n \r\nThis time around, I was able to requisition, and receive a really fun extra; a karaoke machine! Sure, we use it for phonics songs and enunciating. However it serves an extra piece of utility for emergent bilingual students. We use it so that they can get accustomed to speaking into a microphone, essential for TELPAS and other speaking tasks in English. She also gave snacks so many times, that I actually only purchased once or twice. About half of my class are new to US schools and learning English to understand peers was one of their goals this years. These books, games and word cards have made this possible for them.
