They were eager to get outside and start playing right away. We began by reviewing the basics of batting, fielding, and teamwork, and before long, the field was full of energy, laughter, and cheers. One of the best moments was watching students who had never played before hit the ball for the first time — their smiles said it all. The new equipment has allowed everyone to participate equally, without worrying about safety or a lack of gear.\r\n\r\nThese new materials have completely transformed our PE lessons. Instead of sitting out or waiting for a turn with limited equipment, every student is actively engaged, learning sportsmanship, coordination, and teamwork. The whiffle ball sets have made our games more inclusive and fun, and students are gaining confidence in their athletic abilities each week.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, my students will continue building their skills through friendly class tournaments and skill challenges. They're already brainstorming strategies and team names for our upcoming mini whiffle ball league! Thanks to your generosity, our PE program now offers students more opportunities to stay active, build confidence, and discover the joy of physical fitness.","fullyFundedDate":1756387039235,"projectUrl":"project/baseballfastpitch-development/9328049/","projectTitle":"Baseball/Fastpitch Development","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. LaMay","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8156625_orig.png?crop=192,192,x6,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1733177769566","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8156625"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_36331","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1948,"numTeachers":83,"percentFrplEligible":33,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":65,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":17,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"23.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":36331,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Sumner High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Sumner High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/washington/sumner-bonney-lake-school-district-320/sumner-high-school/36331"}
