One of the most transformative additions was the set of 3/4 size guitars, which made it possible for younger and smaller students to participate comfortably and confidently in instrumental music. These guitars opened the door for hands-on learning, allowing students to explore rhythm, harmony, and melody in a tangible way. \r\n\r\nThe materials provided enabled me to introduce new methods of instruction that were both student-centered and collaborative, helping foster critical thinking and musical expression. Colored paper also keeps game pieces separated with each set of game pieces printed on a different color of paper. Your generosity has allowed me to provide the newest readers for my shelves!\r\n\r\nMy 8th graders have 10 minutes every Tuesday & Thursday for free reading. They get to choose any book from the library. They can take as much or as little time as they need with that book. Many students have already finished a book IN SPANISH and the school year has barely started! I am so proud of them.\r\n\r\nThe most popular books from this project have been the well-illustrated, easy readers. By generously funding this project for prizes, you helped me generate excitement among my students, you motivated them to do so many extra projects to showcase their talents and you gave them lasting memories of Spanish class.\r\n\r\nDuring Wooly Week 7th & 8th grade students learned tons of new vocabulary from a song about boy whose mom only wants him to eat soup, but he leaves the house to search for bread with his friends. I learned several new activities that I can now use with other songs or lessons.\r\n\r\nThe raffle at the end of Wooly Week was amazing! Students were on the edges of their chairs as names were announced. And they were genuinely happy for each other as their classmates won. We normally read from my in-class Spanish-language library on Thursdays so when I showed them the slide for reading, they didn't react, though the background foreshadowed the presents they were about to receive. As I passed out the wrapped books, many students started shaking them & saying, \"I think it's a book!\" Always joking around!\r\nThey were surprised that they all received the same book, but enjoyed drinking Mexican hot chocolate and reading aloud together in groups. After they read, we played a familiar True or False game with the events and characters of the story.
