They are currently learning about the engineering design process through building rollercoasters, and this project has shown them how engineers collaborate, problem-solve, and persevere. The students were thrilled to take on the challenge of construction. Even those who felt unsure of their abilities worked through their doubts, gained confidence, and successfully completed their projects.\r\n\r\nThe highlight of the experience was seeing their rollercoasters in motion—students literally jumped with excitement as they watched their designs come to life! The room was filled with cheers, laughter, and an energy that only comes when students see the results of their hard work in action. They eagerly shared their rollercoasters with classmates, explaining how they solved problems along the way. For many, this was the moment when all of their planning, persistence, and creativity came together, and they felt a true sense of pride in what they had accomplished.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, students will use their rollercoasters to explore scientific and mathematical concepts such as potential and kinetic energy, making deeper connections to science and math. They will also extend their learning through writing activities and by presenting their projects to school administrators, building both academic skills and confidence in sharing their work.","fullyFundedDate":1746703208079,"projectUrl":"project/whats-the-science-behind-rollercoaster/9171975/","projectTitle":"What’s the Science Behind Rollercoaster Rides?","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Autrey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4241779_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1567354442279","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4241779"},{"teacherId":4241779,"projectId":8386380,"letterContent":"Thank you for your support for this amazing project.
