Your kindness truly made a meaningful impact on our students' learning and engagement.\r\n\r\nWhile reading Prisoner B-3087, many students became deeply interested in learning more about the Holocaust beyond the novel. Thanks to the donated books, several students were eager to read Out of Hiding to explore the story from the perspective of the author's wife, which helped them better understand the long-lasting effects of this historical period. Students then selected individual Holocaust-related topics, researched using the nonfiction texts, took notes, and wrote thoughtful essays demonstrating both academic growth and genuine curiosity.\r\n\r\nThe nonfiction Holocaust book and the Anne Frank graphic novel were especially popular and accessible, helping students connect to complex historical events in meaningful ways. Today, students proudly presented their essays, and the generous snacks donated through this project helped create a celebratory and supportive environment for sharing their hard work.\r\n\r\nThe manga additions were also a huge hit! We previously had no manga in our classroom library, and students were so excited that everyone wanted to get their hands on one. The enthusiasm they brought into the room was incredible, and it has already inspired me to try to add even more in the future.\r\n\r\nOverall, these donations brought a renewed excitement to our curriculum and classroom library. Our students feel valued, motivated, and inspired to read, learn, and explore new topics. Thank you for helping make our classroom a place where learning is engaging and joyful.","fullyFundedDate":1766586720589,"projectUrl":"project/read-snack-repeat/9863348/","projectTitle":"Read, Snack, Repeat!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hoon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10335141_orig.jpg?crop=977,977,x233,y265&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1761683996657","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10335141"},{"teacherId":10314667,"projectId":9835150,"letterContent":"When the students saw the LEGO materials for the first time, their faces lit up. Your support means so much to us and will have a lasting, positive impact on the children we serve.\r\n\r\nThe addition of visual timers to our classroom is already proving to be a transformative tool in our students' daily routines. As you may know, young children, especially those with special needs, can struggle with the passage of time and transitioning from one activity to the next. Visual timers help to make abstract concepts like time more concrete and understandable for our students, creating a sense of structure and predictability in their day.\r\n\r\nWith the use of these timers, our students can now better anticipate when activities will begin or end, which helps reduce anxiety and fosters a more comfortable learning environment. This simple yet powerful tool allows them to feel more in control of their day, empowering them to stay engaged and focused on the tasks at hand.\r\n\r\nThe benefits are already evident in our classroom. Students are more confident in their ability to transition smoothly from one activity to another, and there has been a noticeable reduction in the frustration that often accompanies abrupt changes in their routine. Teachers, too, are finding that the timers serve as a valuable resource to manage transitions efficiently and with less verbal prompting, creating a calmer atmosphere for all.","fullyFundedDate":1733352303202,"projectUrl":"project/special-education-preschool-timers/8818160/","projectTitle":"Special Education Preschool Timers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Pittenger","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9776726"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_82226","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":287,"numTeachers":33,"percentFrplEligible":11,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":90,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":7,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"8.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":73.3,"schoolId":82226,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Stillwater Township Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Stillwater Township Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-jersey/stillwater-township-school-district/stillwater-twp-elementary-school/82226"}
