Because of you, my students now have access to meaningful tools that help them understand their feelings, regulate their emotions, and build positive relationships with others.\r\n\r\nWe are already using these resources daily in our calming corner and during small-group SEL lessons. The A Little SPOT of Learning book sets and emotion plush toys have been especially powerful. One of my students recently used a \"blue spot\" plush to explain that they were feeling sad but didn't have the words to say it—this opened the door for a great conversation about emotions and coping strategies. The Breathing Pal koalas and weighted Hug Balls have also been a huge support, helping students practice calming breaths and self-regulation when they feel overwhelmed. During choice time, students are even reminding each other to \"go visit the calming corner\" when someone needs a break.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their faces absolutely lit up. They were immediately drawn to the bright colors, soft textures, and friendly characters. Many of them hugged the weighted plushies right away and asked if they could read the books together. It was clear they felt excited, safe, and seen—these tools instantly made our classroom feel more welcoming and supportive.\r\n\r\nNext, we will continue building on these lessons by explicitly teaching emotion identification, making good choices, and practicing coping strategies through role-play and discussion. Students will use the Making Good Choices Match-Ups game and the Rainbow Fidget Tube as part of structured SEL lessons, and then independently apply these skills throughout the day. Our goal is for students to become more confident in expressing their feelings, problem-solving with peers, and managing big emotions on their own.\r\n\r\nThank you again for giving my students resources that truly make a difference. Your kindness is helping them grow not just academically, but emotionally—and that impact will last far beyond this school year.","fullyFundedDate":1765205093613,"projectUrl":"project/tools-for-big-feelings-helping-little-l/9924264/","projectTitle":"Tools for Big Feelings: Helping Little Learners Thrive","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Verdeflor","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10293415_orig.jpg?crop=2331,2331,x0,y427&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1759162691726","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10293415"},{"teacherId":10191348,"projectId":9643750,"letterContent":"I want to express my deepest gratitude for your incredible generosity toward my students. Your thoughtful gift has truly transformed our therapy sessions and created opportunities for growth that would not have been possible otherwise. Since receiving these materials, I have been able to incorporate them into a wide range of engaging and meaningful activities that target essential communication skills. The resources you provided have supported so many areas of development. We've used them to strengthen sequencing skills, helping students organize ideas and retell stories in logical order. They've been instrumental in building vocabulary, allowing my students to learn new words and expand their expressive language. Sentence expansion activities have become more interactive and fun, encouraging students to move beyond simple phrases and develop more complex language structures. Additionally, the materials have been perfect for practicing WH-question comprehension, which is a critical skill for academic success and social interaction. And for those working on articulation, these tools have allowed us to incorporate quick, targeted practice that keeps students motivated and engaged.Your contribution has not only enhanced the quality of our sessions but has also made a meaningful impact on student progress. I have already seen incredible growth in their confidence and communication abilities.","fullyFundedDate":1759933997042,"projectUrl":"project/language-expansion/9643750/","projectTitle":"Language Expansion","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. South","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10191348"},{"teacherId":10047792,"projectId":9389447,"letterContent":"Thank you to donating to my first class ever.
