Being left handed myself and having grown up in an era when school desks only had a writing area on the right hand side, I understand how uncomfortable it can be to deal with equipment that is set up in a way that makes it unnatural to use.\r\n\r\nAgain THANK YOU for your very generous donation to our String Madness! project! Since receiving these resources, my students and I have been able to fully engage in hands-on welding projects without the concern of inadequate protection. We've used the gloves and jackets daily during our welding units, allowing students to focus on developing their technical skills with MIG and stick welding. With the new equipment, students were more focused, and their craftsmanship greatly improved.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new gloves and jackets, their faces lit up with excitement. Many of them had never had access to such high-quality, professional-grade gear before, and it made them feel more like real welders. They were eager to suit up and get to work, and their enthusiasm has remained high ever since. Looking ahead, we're beginning a new project where students will design and weld custom metal signs, combining creativity with skill. These new resources will continue to play a crucial role as we move forward, helping students gain the hands-on experience they need to prepare for careers in the trades. Thanks to our donors, our welding program feels more like a true training ground, and that inspiration is showing in every spark and weld.","fullyFundedDate":1746466983112,"projectUrl":"project/welders-for-the-future/9174661/","projectTitle":"Welders for the Future","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Coburn","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9871840"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_10767","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1111,"numTeachers":58,"percentFrplEligible":87,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":45,"percentWhite":39,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":10,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"19.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":78.3,"schoolId":10767,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Stanhope Elmore High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Stanhope Elmore High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/alabama/elmore-county-school-district/stanhope-elmore-high-school/10767"}
