They have noticed the classroom decorations and additions as well as used some of the items themselves recently. \r\n\r\nThe packages arrived in time for February and right off the Chinese Lunar New Year decorations went up and were noticed. They invited many questions that were related to the math classes I teach. The story behind the color red, the lanterns, the new year dragon and the red tassels spawned questions about the lunar cycle and phases of the moon as well. The Zen 3 tiered mini water fountain that cycles with a small pump added to the feeling of the Chinese New Year as well and makes a nice white noise background for them while they study quietly. \r\n\r\nThis week we introduced the math manipulatives like dominoes and various multi-sided di and 6 sided large colored foam di to rotate though some remedial math games that required addition, counting up and focused on their short term memory skill building. They really love di in general and were excited to see how my math games challenged their current skill levels while hitting the curriculum standards. I used the foam circle red and white markers to play a Geometry vocabulary and formulas memory enforcing game as well. The Pythagorean Theorem was being introduced to my Pre-Algebra classes and these foam markers helped connect old learning to new.\r\n\r\nThe grow lights have thus far assisted a few of the classroom plants to grow stronger and produce a more aesthetic learning environment while cleaning the air and improving oxygen levels. Due to the high altitude of the campus, 8,500 feet, this was extra beneficial. Some of the items will be used later in the semester when the time is right. For example, there are more math related di to introduce while the geometry classes will really benefit from the Tangram shapes, both for problem solving skills and a vocabulary enforcing activity. \r\n\r\nThe items are very engaging, reusable and have endless possibilities for lesson enhancement. They have all been a big hit!","fullyFundedDate":1768676551415,"projectUrl":"project/creative-math-classrooms-are-engaging-an/10019676/","projectTitle":"Creative Math Classrooms are Engaging and Fun 4 Everyone!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Krempel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10403354_orig.jpg?crop=1295,1296,x0,y505&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1768796708489","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10403354"},{"teacherId":8698570,"projectId":9997945,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity! When the books arrived, I invited a small group of students to help me unpack them. What could have been a simple task turned into one of the most joyful moments I've seen in our space. They carefully opened boxes, passed books around, called out titles they recognized, and immediately began claiming what they wanted to read next.\r\n\r\nSince then, the impact has been undeniable. The book sets and series have been completely devoured. Students are finishing books and asking for the next one. They're trading recommendations, talking about characters, and spending their free time reading...sometimes late into the evening. For many of them, this is the first time they've felt genuinely excited about reading.\r\n\r\nThese books have become more than just academic resources. They offer escape, comfort, and a sense of choice in an environment where choice is rare. They allow my students to see themselves in stories, imagine different futures, and experience moments of calm and focus. Reading has become something they want to do, not something they're required to do.\r\n\r\nYour generosity made that possible. You didn't just donate books; you gave my students something to look forward to, something to hold onto, and something that reminds them they are seen, valued, and worth investing in.\r\n\r\nFrom me and from my boys, thank you for helping create a space where stories matter and where reading feels like a gift.","fullyFundedDate":1758830123850,"projectUrl":"project/books-behind-bars/9662304/","projectTitle":"Books Behind Bars","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rasore","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8151946_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758397151359","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8151946"},{"teacherId":8698570,"projectId":9639947,"letterContent":"The camera has been a huge game changer for the boys!
