When the books arrived, I invited a small group of students to help me unpack them. What could have been a simple task turned into one of the most joyful moments I've seen in our space. They carefully opened boxes, passed books around, called out titles they recognized, and immediately began claiming what they wanted to read next.\r\n\r\nSince then, the impact has been undeniable. The book sets and series have been completely devoured. Students are finishing books and asking for the next one. They're trading recommendations, talking about characters, and spending their free time reading...sometimes late into the evening. For many of them, this is the first time they've felt genuinely excited about reading.\r\n\r\nThese books have become more than just academic resources. They offer escape, comfort, and a sense of choice in an environment where choice is rare. They allow my students to see themselves in stories, imagine different futures, and experience moments of calm and focus. Reading has become something they want to do, not something they're required to do.\r\n\r\nYour generosity made that possible. You didn't just donate books; you gave my students something to look forward to, something to hold onto, and something that reminds them they are seen, valued, and worth investing in.\r\n\r\nFrom me and from my boys, thank you for helping create a space where stories matter and where reading feels like a gift.","fullyFundedDate":1758830123850,"projectUrl":"project/books-behind-bars/9662304/","projectTitle":"Books Behind Bars","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rasore","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8151946_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758397151359","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8151946"},{"teacherId":8698570,"projectId":9639947,"letterContent":"The camera has been a huge game changer for the boys!
