We changed to a new social emotional curriculum this fall and the addition of these new books to our classroom library has been awesome. \r\nI love reading to my students and believe in the benefits of literacy during all times of the day. My goal a couple years ago was to do a daily read aloud with my students that went along with our current study, but then also do a daily read aloud that ties into manners or a social-emotional topic. While the weather has been favorable to be outside for recess, I know this will change before we know it and having additional materials will be very helpful. \r\nI have spent some time at the end of last school year and the beginning of this school year introducing these new materials to my students. They have had the opportunity to use the stepping stones, roll the dice to determine how to move, and take turns selecting movement cards. I was able to purchase many new books for our classroom with the money received. \r\nThese books were used for our pool project. This was a project the preschoolers decided on and these fiction and non fiction books helped us to learn more. \r\nThe project approach is a new one for our preschool. My preschoolers have loved this approach in our classroom and these books have been a huge asset.
