Every dollar is greatly appreciated and helped elevate the SWE Cheer Team to new heights. Before this DonorsChoose project was fulfilled, the cheer team operated solely on a cheer fee and what I could afford on my own (which was not much). Although this was enough to make the team look uniform, the team still lacked any additional supplies that help a cheer team thrive such as pompoms, megaphones, or school spirit gear like face paint or glitter tattoos. These new supplies have allowed the cheerleaders to have a more dynamic cheer experience which is very important since some students will not get to cheer in middle school.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nSecond, I would like to express the gratitude of the cheerleaders when they received the supplies. One student said, \"We felt special because people bought so much stuff for us.\" Other students said they felt appreciated, happy, joyful, excited, and surprised. The cheerleaders are so excited every time they get to use their pompoms and as the coach I'm very grateful for the cheer bags to carry all our cheer gear in a professional manner. The new supplies also earned us many compliments from students, staff, parents, and members of the community at various events in and out of the school. The coolest part of this DonorsChoose project is that the SWE Cheer Team has been able to do new cheers and routines using the new supplies.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nLastly, this project will benefit future 5th grade cheer teams for years to come. The supplies received will be able to pass from one team to the next and one coach to the next. Every year the SWE Cheer Team improves more and more.
