In the first week of school I was able to present my AP class with the new selection of novels that were available for Lit Circles. Some groups still opted for the classics that I already had in class, but have said that they have their next book in mind already. I have had several of them ask if they can borrow another book to read on the side because my descriptions of them made it sound great. I couldn't have done that without all fo your help. \r\n\r\nThe immediate impact is obviously with the AP Lit Circles, but it is giving me more options for planning in the future as well. My Gen Ed 12th grade English classes typically read 1984, but our library doesn't have a ton of options that are well known works above the young adult level. We have already been able to transform the cart into a store on wheels which has helped up to raise money for different school events! It has made it so much easier as a student council group to have our very own things since we were often having to share with so many other groups and people throughout the building. Which really impacted our selling. \r\nOur cork board has been a central location for students to find out about information like spirit weeks, dances, etc.. which has been super helpful! When we first got the donations, it was super fun to see the excitement on the kids faces. Now that they have their own materials it feels like we can continue to build student council.
