These projects not only allow them to explore their creativity, but also give them a lasting sense of accomplishment. Your donations helped ensure that every student, regardless of financial circumstances, had the opportunity to participate fully without having to contribute their own money for materials.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, we've been able to continue using 14-inch circular boards—an ideal size that allows for both creative expression and manageable use of glass materials—without compromising the quality of the final artworks. It may seem like a small detail, but it has a big impact on what our students are able to achieve.\r\n\r\nOne of the most rewarding aspects of this project is the level of engagement it brings out in the classroom. When you walk into the art room during this unit, there's a quiet hum of focus and creativity. Students are immersed in their work—focused, motivated, and proud of what they are creating. It's truly a joy to witness.\r\n\r\nI would be honored to share photos of their work with you, and would be happy to send a link to a gallery showcasing their mosaics. We didn't have anywhere at school for them to re-ground and gather themselves without being in a staff member's office. This has been a huge hit! \r\n\r\nWe have had daily use of the new space, but are still getting the word out. We are encouraging mindful use and not just a space to hangout. The comfortable seating, salt lamp, and journals have really been appreciated. Students are noticing the \"vibe\" we are trying to accomplish. I hope to add some more items as time goes on, but this is a fantastic way to start and I am so excited that it is officially open and being used.\r\n\r\nRecently, a student was having a hard time, and refused to get out of his mom's car in the morning. He absolutely would not come in to school. Finally, his School Counselor went out to the car and offered to walk him to the Peaceful Place as a starting point. He agreed! The student was able to start his day in a calming place with no pressure to see or talk to anyone. My hope is that we can continue to have success both big and small, and I am grateful to be seeing it already. This project has the scope and possibility to impact hundreds of students. With our project we were able to get materials to heat press onto t-shirts, mugs and tote bags. Included in the images is a student design that they created in Adobe Illustrator and then was printed with the sublimation printer and heat pressed onto a t-shirt.
