Decodable books focus on a phonics skill such as short vowels, short vowels with blends, and long vowels with silent e. When we indroduce a skill during our whole group lesson such as silent e, my students are able to now have books with these words they can practice during their independent reading time and our small group time! \r\n\r\nEach day we have a phonics lesson where we work on a particular skill. Lots of my students are at different levels and aren't quite ready for the skills we are working on in whole group and so during our small group time I am able to differentiate their reading with these new books so they are able to read at their level.\r\n\r\nMy students are loving these books!
