Thanks so much! It had been quite the challenge before and now it's a breeze. It's nice to have the locking wheels and to be able to unlock them and get to materials behind where the cots go. Before I would have to pivot the very heavy stack of cots and hope that I was not going to tip them over and cause a catastrophic mess. Luckily, that never happened and thanks to this project, won't happen. Big ups and thank you and appreciation!","fullyFundedDate":1759265603071,"projectUrl":"project/heavy-cots-for-little-tots/9759384/","projectTitle":"Heavy Cots for Little Tots","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Carlin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9192615_orig.jpg?crop=1306,1306,x2320,y173&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755697167616","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9192615"},{"teacherId":3176783,"projectId":9396082,"letterContent":"Our new book shelf is an amazing addition to our cozy reading corner. Covers of books are beautifully displayed and students can easily find their favorite stories to pick up and start reading! No more searching through bins or shelves to find that one special book, everything is at their fingertips.\r\nI am seeing students more engaged with books this year as well as some students telling friends where to find a book. This is magical to a teacher. Hearing the giggles about a funny story they remember, seeing them point out a favorite character they recognize and watching them carefully returning books to their shelf spot makes me realize these students are on the road to loving reading and books.\r\nAs the school year continues, I will rotate the genre of books based on our current theme and focus of study. Even though book topics may change, students know their other favorite books are still within their reach in the enormous storage area on the back of this shelf. \r\nWe are so thankful to have this book shelf in our classroom and we are beyond grateful for the support from our special donors. I no longer have to use the decrepit purple felt board I had been using that was frayed at every inch and could barely hold felt pieces any more (never mind velcro). The kids were really excited to combine the new fold out felt board next to the magnetic one to facilitate their imaginary play. \r\n\r\nThe first set we had them play with was the dinosaur felt set. Huge hit. This featured lots of different dinosaurs and also a back drop/landscape to add to the immersive dino experience. I also was able to use the felt board for some of our songs and word plays. \r\n Previously I had been using laminated print outs with velcro attached to the back to sing songs like \"Five Little Ducks\" and \"itsy bitsy spider\". The kids were very excited to see the new high quality pieces and some asked me to leave them out at the next play time so they could sing and play with their classmates. \r\n\r\nThe following week we read different versions of Little Red Riding Hood, so it was time to pull out the LRR felt set at play time. The kids really enjoyed telling the story and acting it out with the felt characters. It is really helpful to have a center like this during play time to help solidify themes and ideas from our read alouds. It is also just a lot of fun! Thank you for helping to refresh our materials and bring some life to our class.","fullyFundedDate":1746785735904,"projectUrl":"project/felt-board-developmental-pre-k-magic/9105630/","projectTitle":"Felt Board Developmental Pre-K Magic","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Carlin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9192615_orig.jpg?crop=1306,1306,x2320,y173&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755697167616","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9192615"},{"teacherId":9192615,"projectId":9323999,"letterContent":"The treehouse and furniture/doll kit has been a huge hit! The class was literally squealing in excitement as I unboxed the treehouse. It was great that it was all put together and ready to be played with, both for the class and for me as we all know how fun it is to put together complicated toys/furniture. We got the box in the afternoon and kids were playing with it mere minutes later!\r\n\r\nThis is a great center for cooperative play for a variety of reasons. First, it's one of the few centers that has a limit of two. It is big enough that two students can play separately in a sense, but since it is one tree house, they always tend to play cooperatively. I think it's a great center that invites both the social and imaginative kids with the builder and engineer type kids who are usually in places like the block area or sensory bins. All types of learners enjoy this center and it creates different learning opportunities for everyone involved. The first day we had it as a center, two students who sometimes have conflicts played for the entire hour without any major disagreements!\r\n\r\nI really wanted this item because I knew it would accomplish several learning goals while being incredibly engaging and popular. I was so happy to see my class's excitement exceeded my own and I know this will be a popular center for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1746785720218,"projectUrl":"project/gender-neutral-dollhouse-fun/9323999/","projectTitle":"Gender Neutral Dollhouse Fun!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Carlin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9192615_orig.jpg?crop=1306,1306,x2320,y173&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755697167616","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9192615"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_65625","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":93,"numTeachers":8,"percentFrplEligible":74,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":95,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":0,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":71.2,"schoolId":65625,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Solon Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Solon Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/maine/rsu-74-msad-74/solon-elementary-school/65625"}
