The lines of the squares help students remember personal space so each student is separated.\r\n\r\nMy students and families were very complimentary of the new classroom rug when they came in for the first day of Open House. They said it tied the whole room together and made it look very inviting.\r\n\r\nI will continue using the rug all year for students to work on when they are learning to read, writing on clipboards, or playing games with their friends. Although the school year has not yet begun, I can already envision the positive impact this rug will have on my students and our daily routines. Your kindness will help create a warm, welcoming, and organized learning space for my young learners as they begin their educational journey.\r\n\r\nThis rug will be much more than a decoration or a place to sit — it will become the heart of our classroom. I plan to use it as our main gathering space for morning meetings, read-alouds, group discussions, and learning activities. Each student will have a designated spot on the rug, giving them a clear sense of ownership, structure, and belonging. For kindergarteners, having a consistent space to return to each day will be key to helping them feel secure, focused, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nI imagine the excitement my students will feel when they walk into the classroom for the first time and see the rug rolled out and ready for them. Many of them may be entering school for the very first time, and I know this rug will help ease that transition. I expect they will eagerly run their hands across the soft fabric, find their own spot to sit, and quickly begin to associate the rug with the fun and safety of their new classroom. For many of them, this will be their first experience in a structured group learning environment, and the rug will serve as a physical and emotional anchor throughout the day.\r\nIn the coming weeks, as I prepare the room for the arrival of my students, the rug will be one of the first things I set up. I know it will help establish the inviting, inclusive atmosphere that I work hard to create each year. Thank you for helping me make that possible. Your support will have a lasting effect on the learning, confidence, and comfort of each child who steps foot into our classroom. We haven't even begun the year, and yet your generosity has already made a difference. Thank you again for your thoughtful and impactful gift.","fullyFundedDate":1748397422902,"projectUrl":"project/smiling-on-the-carpet/9381692/","projectTitle":"Smiling on the Carpet","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Neighbors","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10044612_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1748375549877","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10044612"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_57914","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":408,"numTeachers":28,"percentFrplEligible":76,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":27,"percentWhite":57,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":6,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":49.5,"schoolId":57914,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Sinking Fork Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Sinking Fork Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/kentucky/christian-county-public-school-district/sinking-fork-elementary-school/57914"}
