The headphones have been a huge help during independent reading, math, and language practice, allowing students to stay focused and fully engaged. The reading bean bags have transformed our reading corner into a cozy space where students are excited to spend time. Our new timers and classroom clock have been especially helpful for managing transitions and keeping students on track, while the storage cart and lined whiteboards have made our lessons more organized and interactive. Even the snacks and candy have served as meaningful rewards that motivate and celebrate our students' efforts.\r\n\r\nOne of the most memorable moments was the day our students first saw the bean bags and snacks. Their faces lit up with excitement and were excited for our independent reading time, so that they could get to use them. The energy in the room was contagious. Students were not only enthusiastic but also more eager to participate. The headphones quickly became a favorite tool for our intervention centers, where students can now listen to stories or practice language fluency without distractions.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, our class is diving into exciting projects in both reading and math. In literacy, students are working on creating their own short stories. The bean bags and headphones will support independent reading and listening, while the timers will help students pace their writing sessions and stay focused. In math, the lined whiteboards have already become a favorite tool for solving problems during lessons and small-group practice. The timers and clock also help students stay accountable during math centers and build independence in managing their work time. These tools have given our students the structure, comfort, and excitement they need to grow in multiple subjects, and we cannot thank you enough for making this possible.","fullyFundedDate":1758299455803,"projectUrl":"project/building-focus-and-fun-in-our-classroom/9602897/","projectTitle":"Building Focus and Fun in Our Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Moreno","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9712007"},{"teacherId":9712007,"projectId":9350321,"letterContent":"My students and I have been so excited to use the new privacy folders, whiteboards, and Post-it easel pads in our classroom. The privacy folders have been especially helpful during independent work and assessments, allowing each student to focus and build confidence in their own progress. The whiteboards have quickly become a favorite tool for math practice and word work because students love being able to \"show what they know\" and get instant feedback. One of my favorite moments was watching them eagerly hold up their boards during a math game—there was so much engagement, teamwork, and joy in their learning. The easel pads have also given us a way to anchor our ideas during whole-group discussions and keep our learning visible around the room.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, their faces lit up with excitement. Many of them couldn't wait to open the whiteboards and try them out right away, while others were eager to set up the privacy folders like \"real test takers.\" These resources have truly energized our classroom and made learning feel more interactive and fun. Looking ahead, my students will continue using the privacy folders to build independence and responsibility, the whiteboards for daily math fluency and literacy practice, and the easel pads to collaborate on larger projects. Thanks to your generosity, we now have tools that will continue to support us throughout the year and help every child grow as a learner.","fullyFundedDate":1747437966786,"projectUrl":"project/ms-morenos-2nd-grade-class/9350321/","projectTitle":"Ms. Moreno's 2nd Grade Class","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Moreno","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9712007"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_122622","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":334,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":16,"percentLatinx":79,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"1 - 2","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":81.8,"schoolId":122622,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Simcoe Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Simcoe Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/washington/wapato-school-district-207/simcoe-elementary-school/122622"}
