It has helped get students excited about reading and has introduced them to many new genres. My students have especially loved the novels in verse that I was able to purchase with your generous donation. Many of these novels tell stories with a protagonist who loves sports. I have numerous reluctant readers who love sports, who have gravitated to these novels. It's so exciting to watch them want to read during independent reading time, and get lost in their books.\r\n The students have also appreciated the comfortable seating for independent reading time. There's something so special about being able to relax in a bean bag with an enticing book in your hand. My students have loved receiving new books, and have been devouring them. Many of the students have also enjoyed the history - choose your own adventure. They've really enticed all of my students who are learning about history, while developing their reading skills.\r\n\r\n Thanks so much for your generous donation. It really has made a difference in my students' motivation and love for reading.","fullyFundedDate":1727462733059,"projectUrl":"project/motivating-reluctant-readers/8576452/","projectTitle":"Motivating Reluctant Readers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McGown","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9249842"},{"teacherId":3786915,"projectId":8567866,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your support! My students have really loved using the materials while they work around the room. Every day, they thank me for them, and I always remind them that there are so many wonderful people who made this possible. I now have enough materials for each student to use, and they don't have to race for anything anymore. They're happy to share and excited to try new things. Your donation means so much to me, and my students are so grateful, too!\r\n\r\nSome of my students first saw these materials when I was bringing the boxes to my classroom after school. They were so excited, and the following day, when they saw what was in the boxes, they were ecstatic. One specific example I remember was when they saw the teepee. They couldn't contain their excitement and still, to this day, love using it to cozy up and complete their work. \r\n\r\nIt's been amazing to have the cushions and couch as well. Students love using them when working with partners or reading a book. I even had a parent who specifically thanked me for giving her child the opportunity to work in ways that are comfortable for her. Finally, students use the rocking boards to sit on, put their feet on, or use as a hard writing surface. They've gotten even more creative than I could have imagined with these flexible seating materials. So thank you so much for your donations. I know my students are very thankful as well.","fullyFundedDate":1727463021090,"projectUrl":"project/building-a-positive-classroom-community/8567866/","projectTitle":"Building a Positive Classroom Community","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Sutterfield","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3786915_orig.jpg?crop=1119,1119,x88,y177&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1692931550054","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-sutterfield"},{"teacherId":9222573,"projectId":8569767,"letterContent":"My students were overjoyed to see our new materials arriving to our classroom! They ask to play this game daily!\r\nIn addition, my students have had many opportunities to build their quantitative understanding of number through use of our subitizing dice, multicolored patterned cards numbered 0-13, and our 5-frame trays.\r\nI look forward to the excitement to come as I continue to bring our new materials for my kiddos to dig into the quantity of 10. We will start with exploration on our ten frame mats with magnetic counters and progress through games such as Clumsy Thief, Hammerhead Number Hunt, and I Sea 10!\r\nThank you for providing the funds for me to purchase materials that will support me in creating opportunities for my kids to become strong, competent mathematicians!","fullyFundedDate":1727462957969,"projectUrl":"project/building-strong-competent-math-identity/8569767/","projectTitle":"Building Strong, Competent Math Identity","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Keefe","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9222573"},{"teacherId":9255240,"projectId":8575746,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations to my student's exploration based sensory learning. This approach not only enhances their technical skills but also fosters a sense of curiosity and exploration among young learners.\r\n\r\nMoreover, the impact of screen-free coding extends beyond academics. It nurtures essential life skills such as teamwork, communication, and resilience as students work together to solve challenges and learn from one another.
