My students were thrilled to see all of the new supplies and resources that had been donated to our classroom. The notebooks will give them a place to journal, reflect, write, and express their thoughts as they navigate the important transition from childhood into their teenage years. The snacks will help make sure my students have something to keep them fueled and focused throughout their school day.\r\n\r\nAs a teacher, I spend countless hours and often my own money making sure my students have what they need. I've noticed that students are more confident in handling books, recognizing letters and words, and engaging in conversations about the stories they read. The library has also become a central tool for small group instruction, helping me tailor reading activities to each child's developmental level while fostering peer interaction and social-emotional growth.\r\n\r\nThe addition of the Yoto device has further enhanced our literacy environment. Students are able to listen to stories independently or in small groups, which supports listening comprehension, vocabulary development, and auditory learning. For many students who struggle with reading fluency or attention, Yoto provides a multisensory approach that keeps them engaged and allows them to experience stories even when they are not yet ready to read independently.
