For your donation, I bought a large Marble Maze. One of the item I wanted to purchase, was not available. I was able to purchase another item, which was a light table. Since the light table was child size, I was able to purchase other items for my students to use. These items were: magnet tiles, upper /lower case letters and numbers. \r\n\r\nDuring our center times, we have early finishers. I put out different STEM items for my students to use to build their creativity. These two items hit the mark! I have watched them work together to create pictures and houses with their light table and magnet tiles. Yesterday, several of the students worked together to create a very large marble maze. They made it, so you had no idea which way the marble would go. Lots of creativity being tapped into. Again thank you for your generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1731541170498,"projectUrl":"project/building-creativity/8701274/","projectTitle":"Building Creativity","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Johnston","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9705981"},{"teacherId":9761589,"projectId":8819046,"letterContent":"I want to thank you for your generous donation toward my project, \"Help my Students Love to Read!\" Because of your contribution, I was able to purchase 38 new books for my classroom. \r\nThe books I tried to purchase were ones that seemed to make the biggest impact with wonderful stories, those I felt that my students would engage with, and books that had wonderful reviews from fellow educators. \r\nI was able to read the book, Wild Robot aloud to the class and we participated in a group novel study. This was the first time any of us had read the book and it soon became a favorite. \r\nThis quarter my students were able to choose a book to create a book report project on. Several of my students chose from the new books that were purchased. I took photos of their projects to include in my thank you. I was so grateful to have these as options for them. \r\nI have one particular student that struggles with sticking with a book for a long period of time. I encouraged him to read the book, Alone, as it is written in stanzas rather than paragraphs. He read it and LOVED it! I was so excited to see him so engaged in reading. \r\nAgain, thank you so much for bringing this project to life.","fullyFundedDate":1727546608331,"projectUrl":"project/help-my-students-love-to-read/8819046/","projectTitle":"Help my Students Love to Read!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Olson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9761589"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_78620","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":111,"numTeachers":10,"percentFrplEligible":45,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":91,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":5,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"11.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":25.0,"schoolId":78620,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Shields Valley Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Shields Valley Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/montana/shields-valley-district-j12-5/shields-valley-elementary-school/78620"}
